First Fan E-Mail

This was the first email we sent out to our email fan base:

Welcome fans of the band, SIX - all 3 of you (hey, you gotta start somewhere - maybe someday we'll be famous and you can show your friends this email and let them know that you were with us from the beginning). This here is our first mass email to our fans to let them know all the exciting news happening with the band.

Actually, the only news we probably NEED to report to you right now is that we have an official website - www.ILikeSIX.com - why the only news? Well, just about all of the other information in this email can be found on our website. But, despite the wealth of information in this email, feel free to check out the site - we're up to about 75 hits right now (and no more than 70 of them are by the band members), and new information is being added every month.

After navigating to our website, check out the "About the Band" link for a little bit of information about all of us, and how this assorted collection of musicians mostly unknown to each other a year and a half ago came together to be the Rock and Roll powerhouse known as "SIX". We also have a list of "Frequently Asked Questions" - if you have other questions that need to be answered, let us know.

GIGS - Yes, the other really big news is that there have now been multiple instances of SIX in public. Our first performance (consisting of 5 songs) in front of people that weren't all related to us occurred way back in October of 2006, and we took our time to try it out again. Our true debut performance as a band (with a official band name, a full-blown PA system, as well as a full setlist consisting of over 20 songs) came on May 11th, at the Waldorf School in Lexington, MA. We played for the school's "coffeehouse" series, which is normally a strictly acoustic affair, but the school was willing to let us bring our collective 1,000+ watts of power into the school's auditorium and we rocked the house! Much dancing ensued...

Our second full-fledged performance occurred just 2 weeks ago, in our collective hometown of Winchester, MA - we were invited to play for a private party on June 2nd (WInchester's annual "Town Day", complete with evening fireworks). This performance was particularly memorable for a few reasons - first, it was our first outdoor "festival" performance (see the attached pictures of us rocking out in the open air - thankfully the forecasts for rain didn't materialize). More dancing ensued... Second, it was our first gig to be shut down by the local police! O.K., truth be told, it wasn't really that dramatic. However, just as we were finishing our final set, a cruiser arrived at the residence to answer neighbors' complaints of noise. Since we were essentially done, we just packed up and headed for home - although another cruiser did come by later to ensure that we weren't going to start up again. One would think they knew us well! But, most importantly, a good time was again had by all (reportedly even by friends from halfway across town who were listening in...).

BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, A GOOD TIME WAS AGAIN HAD BY ALL (REPORTEDLY EVEN BY FRIENDS FROM HALFWAY ACROSS TOWN WHO WERE LISTENING IN).

(sorry for our over-exposure here of our bassist, John - but we only had a limited set of photos taken at the gig and wanted to make sure Wendell (keyboards) and Scott (drums) were in one of the shots - but hey, everyone loves a Hawaiian shirt...)

Our next official gig is also a private party in Winchester (another outdoor gig) - since it's private, we can't disclose the location, but if you happen to hear some good classic rock in the area on August 11th...

Between now and our next gig, the band is hard at work (if you can call the fun we're having "work") refining and expanding our repertoire. We're also in discussions for some other performances, but no firm dates to announce yet - but rest assured, when we know, we'll make sure YOU know! And, if you're looking for a good time, SIX might just be right for the occasion!

Thanks for reading - hope to see you all soon (that is, hope you see US soon!),

Steve, Wendell, Scott, Walter, Bruce, John - aka "SIX"
