Rocking from Winchester, MA to Barnard, VT

It's been a wild week for SIX, as we completed two wildly-successful outdoor gigs. Beginning in our hometown of Winchester, we rocked the Town Common on Wednesday night, August 4th playing for over an hour and a half without a break. Just prior to the gig, we were interviewed by folks from the "Winchester Patch" website - included in the article they put together is some pictures from our pre-show sound-check, plus about an eight-minute video of us doing 2 songs, Johnny Rivers' "Secret Agent Man", and a medley of The Romantics' "What I Like About You" and John Mellencamp's "ROCK in the USA". The video doesn't quite capture the full sound quality, but it's cool none-the-less. Some 200 people enjoyed a (somewhat humid, but breezy) evening, and after concluding with our standard closer, The Beatles' "I Saw Her Standing There", the crowd demanded an encore, so the band delivered spirited versions of The Doors' "Love Me Two Times" and The Kinks' "All Day and all of the Night".

We packed up our gear and headed northwest to little town of Barnard, VT, where we were the 3rd out of 4 bands playing at their annual street fair between the shores of Silver Lake and the historic Barnard General Store. We rocked out for about 2 and a half hours before surrendering the stage to the local stars, "Jeanne and the Hi-Tops". Some of the high-lights from our performance include the jamming of The Grateful Dead's "Scarlet Begonias", the blistering energy of The Beatles' "Back in the USSR", the debut of Aerosmith's "Same Old Song and Dance", and the over-the-top vocal performances on ZZ Top's "I Thank You", and The Allman Brothers' "One Way Out". And a good time was had by all!
